The 285-Series is weather-resistant and ignition protected, and it meets SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements, which makes it suitable for petrol-powered boats when installed to the maker's instructions. It mounts on a flat surface with no recessed panel cut-out, and it is designed as a drop-in replacement for 185-Series breakers. Six ratings are offered, from 30 A to 150 A, all for systems up to 48 V DC.
