A zip at the smooth-skin collar closes the neck once the suit is on. In a deep freshwater quarry in mid-winter it is the base of the system, with the 7 mm hooded vest over it when the dive plan runs long. For shore diving on a cold Atlantic coast it stands alone with a hood and gloves. Kevlar patches guard the shoulders and knees against rock and cylinder straps, and the YKK zips sit in sheaths that keep grit out of the teeth.
