SPOOL KIT 15 MTR
The Apeks Lifeline spool kit with 15 metres of line is the smallest in the range, colour-coded purple. The spool is anodised T6061 aluminium alloy, loaded with high-visibility orange polyester line and finished with a Dyneema leader, a pull tab and a nickel-plated brass swivel.
Fifteen metres is a safety stop spool: enough to send a buoy up from six metres with line to spare, and small enough to live on a harness without being noticed. It is not enough to deploy from depth, and it is not meant to be.
The swivel is what stops the line twisting as the buoy rises, which is the usual cause of a spool jamming halfway up.
