Affiliations

Scuba Evolution is a PADI Dive Centre. All of our training is conducted to PADI standards, and every one of our instructors is a PADI professional in current, active teaching status.

What we sell

Scuba diving and snorkelling equipment, servicing and cylinder testing, air and nitrox fills, and PADI recreational and professional dive training.

Prices and payment

All prices shown on this site are in South African Rand and include VAT at the prevailing rate. Delivery is charged separately and is shown in your cart before you pay: R150 on orders under R1 000, free on orders of R1 000 and over. There are no other charges added at checkout.

Training courses can involve costs that sit outside the course fee, such as dive site entrance fees and air fills. These are set out on the course page and in our Return and refund policy.

We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout. Payments are processed by our payment providers over an encrypted connection. We do not see, handle or store your full card number, and no card details are held on our systems.

Delivery

Orders are dispatched with The Courier Guy, typically within one business day, and delivered in 1 to 3 business days to main centres and 3 to 5 business days to outlying areas. Full details are in our Shipping policy.

Your right to cancel

Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act entitles you to cancel an online order without reason and without penalty within 7 days of receiving the goods, in which case you are responsible only for the direct cost of returning them. How to do that, and your rights when goods are defective, are set out in our Return and refund policy.

Terms of the agreement

Our Terms of service govern your use of this site and any purchase you make from it. You can view, download and print them at any time from that page.

Resolving a dispute

Please raise any complaint with us first, on +27 (0) 10 335 1000 or at shop@scubaevolution.co.za. If we cannot resolve it together, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272 or at cgso.org.za, or to the National Consumer Commission. Nothing prevents you from approaching a South African court.

Protection of personal information

Scuba Evolution is the responsible party for the personal information we collect through this site, and we process it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and our Privacy policy.

We collect your name, contact details, delivery address, order history and, for training, the medical declaration and certification details we need to teach you safely. We use it to fulfil your orders, run your training, meet our obligations to PADI and to the tax authorities, and to contact you about your purchases.

You may ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its processing. Where we rely on your consent, such as marketing email, you may withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first and we will investigate. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za or at inforegulator.org.za.

Security

This site runs over HTTPS and is hosted on Shopify. Card payments are processed by PCI DSS compliant providers. We keep customer records on access-controlled systems and share them only with the service providers who need them to get your order to you, such as our courier and payment providers.

Diving is an activity with inherent risk

Scuba diving carries risk, and equipment sold by us must be used within its design limits by a diver certified and current to use it. Life support equipment, including regulators, BCDs and cylinders, must be serviced and tested at the intervals set by its manufacturer. We are not responsible for injury or loss arising from equipment used outside its intended purpose, serviced by unauthorised parties, or used by an uncertified diver.
