O-Ring Kit

Description

An o-ring off a hardware shelf will seal a low pressure hose perfectly well and then extrude out of a cylinder valve at working pressure, which is a failure that happens loudly and at the worst possible moment. Every ring in this kit is rated to 300 bar, and that rating is what separates it from a generic assortment. Twenty-five are supplied, covering the sizes that actually fail on a dive day: cylinder valve seals, hose fittings and regulator connections. They come in a screw-top holder rather than a bag, so they stay clean and stay together in a kit bag or a glovebox. A blown valve o-ring at the fill station is the commonest reason a diver watches a boat leave, and it is a thirty second fix with the right size to hand. Check the kit each season and discard anything hard or taken a set. Fit them with a proper pick, since a scored groove leaks with any ring in it. It suits a diver keeping a save-a-dive kit.
