Description

A transmitter is one more sealed device to maintain and one more battery to lose, and feeding tank pressure up the high pressure hose removes both. That is the case for the console version of the Galileo 2, which also suits divers who would rather have nothing strapped to the forearm, and it keeps the computer with the regulator set between dives instead of in a separate pocket. A quick release lets the unit come off for downloading, travel and storage while the hose stays on the first stage, which means it can travel in hand luggage with the regulator packed in the hold. The computer is the G2 body: a 2.2 inch full-colour TFT at 320 by 240 pixels behind three buttons, rated to 120 metres, carrying up to eight nitrox or trimix mixes with 485 MB of memory, rated by SCUBAPRO at roughly 1,000 hours of profiles. It mounts on a high pressure port on the first stage. It suits a diver who wants integrated gas without a second battery in the water.
