It is cut from 0.5 mm super elastic neoprene with a Metalite coating that helps retain body heat, so it gives more core warmth than a standard rash guard while staying thin enough to wear under a wetsuit. The long sleeves add UV protection to the arms, and flat stitching keeps seams from rubbing on the skin during a long day in the water. It adds a layer under a 5 mm suit on a cool winter dive, protects a snorkeller from sunburn and jellyfish on a reef trip, and serves as a warmer layer for a paddle or swim in the sea.
