Pro Flash Diffuser

Description

Macro is where a bare flash fails hardest, because the subject sits close enough that the tube is effectively a point source right on top of it, burning out anything pale in the near foreground and throwing hard-edged shadows. Spreading that light over a larger area is the standard photographic answer, and it costs about a stop of output in exchange for better contrast and richer colour. This diffuser does that for a Digital Pro Flash, and it flips out of the way when it is not wanted, so the choice between diffused and direct light gets made in the water rather than before the dive. Divers shooting wide rather than close will find it costs more light than it saves and can flip it clear for those frames. It adds nothing to the flash's own controls, so exposure is still set on the flash. It fits the Digital Pro Flash only, which is not included. It suits a photographer shooting close-up subjects.
