WFL12 Wide Angle Wet Lens

Description

A camera's own lens rarely goes wide enough to fit a whole reef scene or a large animal into the frame from close range, and backing off to fit it in puts more water, and more particles, between lens and subject. The WFL12 screws onto a housing's 67 mm thread and takes a 24 mm lens out to about 90 degrees, so the photographer can stay close and still fill the frame. WeeFine build it for cameras up to a Micro Four Thirds sensor with the lens at 24 mm equivalent. The two-element optic uses optical glass with a multi-layer BBAR coating behind a polycarbonate dome, in a Type II anodised aluminium barrel, and at 40 g in water it barely changes a rig's trim. It fits a compact on a reef trip, a mirrorless camera inside a wreck, and a snorkeller shooting reef from the surface. It is rated to 60 m. It suits a photographer who wants a wider view without changing to a dome port.
