S620Ti Second Stage

Description

Small second stages usually trade away sensitivity. This one does not, because it keeps the large diaphragm of the S600 inside a case that is smaller and lighter, and diaphragm area is what sensitivity depends on. Work of breathing actually came down against the S600 rather than up, and it passes 1850 litres per minute at 200 bar. The barrel is titanium, which does not corrode where salt water sits between dives, in a reinforced technopolymer case and front cover. Controls are an easy-grip diver-adjustable inhalation knob and a VIVA lever with a large purge beside them, and the hose port takes a Super-Flow hose with an oversized bore. The flow-engineered exhaust tee sends bubbles wide of the mask, which is worth having behind a camera or on a line in poor visibility. The result is less strain on the jaw across an hour underwater. It suits a diver who wants a light second stage without losing sensitivity.
