Compact Marker Buoy

Description

A surface marker is only useful if it is actually carried, and most divers leave a full-size one behind because of its bulk. The Compact Marker solves that by being self-sealing, which lets it stand tall on the surface with real flotation while packing down small enough to take on every dive. Being seen is the whole function: away from the shore or from a boat, a tall orange buoy at 120 cm is what draws attention to a diver's position. It inflates by breath or from a second stage, so it can be sent up from depth or filled at the surface, and an overpressure valve prevents overinflation as the gas expands on the way up. That same valve is used to release air when the buoy is brought down. That answers a drift dive, a boat pickup and a shore swim outside the flags. It suits a diver who wants a marker small enough to carry every time.
