Marker Buoy

Description

A marker that empties itself in a swell has failed at the only moment it was needed. This one carries a thermo-welded duck bill inside to prevent accidental emptying on the surface in bad weather, which is the difference between a professional balloon and a novelty. Construction is nylon with a resin coating and an internal polyurethane injection, making it especially resistant, and it rolls over itself with a rubber band for stowing. Three inflation methods are offered: from a regulator at the lower end, by mouth, or by connecting a wetsuit or jacket hose. It is fluorescent red at 120 cm long, with a reflective band and an insertion point on the upper part for a chemical or strobe light, so it works at night as well as by day. An overpressure valve and a quick emptying handle control the gas, and a DIR snap hook attaches it. It suits a diver who needs a marker that stands up in poor conditions.
