Smart Strap Extension

Description

The strap supplied with a wrist computer is sized for a bare arm or a thin suit, and it runs out long before it reaches round a 7 mm sleeve or a drysuit cuff over a thick undergarment. This Mares extension adds length to the strap of the Mares Smart computer so it fastens securely over heavy exposure protection. It counts most in cold water, where a computer that will not close properly ends up in a pocket or pinned under a glove where it cannot be read. A winter dive in a semi-dry, a drysuit course, and a trip from warm water to a cold-water destination with the same computer are the obvious cases. Fit it before the dive and check the computer sits snug once the suit compresses at depth, since a loose strap lets the unit spin to the underside of the wrist. It is designed for the Mares Smart range; other Mares computers use their own straps. It suits a Mares Smart owner who dives in thick suits.
