SCUBAPRO Wrist Strap Mantis 1/Meridian PU (Black)

Description

Both of these computers were built to be worn topside as well as dived, so their straps take daily wear on top of dive wear and reach the end of their life sooner than a band on a dive-only instrument. Changing one at the first sign of hardening is what stops the computer going overboard. This is the black polyurethane band shared by the Mantis 1 and the Meridian, so the two share spares in the same kit bag. Polyurethane holds its flexibility in cold water, the condition that stiffens a harder compound and starts cracks at the buckle holes. SCUBAPRO list the same band in blue, red, orange and yellow, so a tired computer can be rebuilt in a different colour rather than the original. Fitting is a spring bar job on the bench and the strap is sold without the computer. The Mantis 2 uses different parts and the two generations do not share straps. It suits an owner keeping an older watch-style computer in service.
