Description

A dive school BCD does four dives a day, sits in a chlorine pool twice a week and is rinsed by whoever gets to the tap first, so the specification that matters is abrasion resistance rather than features. The Solid is built to that brief: a 500-denier Cordura exterior over a 420-denier nylon interior, with a brightly coloured pad on the back that both protects the cell from the first stage rubbing against it and makes a student easy to pick out in a crowded group. The lightweight backplate has an integrated carry handle, so a fully assembled rig is lifted by one person. Adjustable shoulder straps use 50 mm buckles, the chest strap carries an emergency whistle, and the waist strap is independent of the air cell so inflating it does not squeeze the wearer. A rubber cylinder grip and valve strap hold the tank, with the option of a second strap. Two zipped pockets plus dedicated octopus and console pockets keep kit visible. It suits a dive school or rental operation.
