Thermobite Mouthpiece

Description

Divers who surface with a sore jaw are usually biting to keep water out, because a standard mouthpiece is held in place by clamping two tabs between the molars for the length of a dive. Heating this one in hot water and closing the teeth on it moulds those tabs to one set of teeth, which spreads the load across the whole bite surface instead of concentrating it on two points. That is what removes the ache showing up on the second or third dive of a day. The moulding is reversible, so a poor first attempt is reheated and the material returns to its original shape rather than being wasted. It fits second stages taking a conventional mouthpiece on standard bite tabs, and the clamp needed to secure it is supplied. It suits a diver doing repetitive dives, or any diver who chews through mouthpieces.
