The Aqua Lung Comfo-Bite in black silicone is the replacement mouthpiece fitted as standard to most Aqua Lung second stages, and the patented bridge across the roof of the mouth is what it is bought for. The bridge carries the weight of the regulator on the palate, so the teeth are not clamping to keep it in.

Jaw fatigue is the usual complaint on a long dive, and it comes from biting rather than from the regulator itself. Removing that load is the difference between a comfortable 60 minute dive and a sore jaw afterwards. The material is silicone rather than rubber, which stays soft in cold water, does not perish as quickly and does not carry a taste. A mouthpiece is a wear part: it splits at the bite tabs, and a split tab is a leak and eventually a lost regulator. Replacing one costs a fraction of a service.

The result is a regulator that stays in place without the jaw doing the work, on a part that is replaced rather than repaired.

Sold on its own, without a clip. The reusable mouthpiece clip is listed separately and lets a change be made without a cable tie. The divisible Comfo mouthpiece is the smaller version for a smaller mouth.
