What This Course Entails

Before you get in the water, there's a short, simple eLearning module to work through on your phone or computer, covering the basics of the equipment and what to expect. It takes a matter of minutes and means you arrive at the pool already knowing what's going on.

From there, your instructor will walk you through the gear in person and the handful of essential skills you'll need before getting in the water: clearing your mask, breathing steadily through the regulator, and basic hand signals.

Then it's straight into a heated indoor pool in Fourways. Under close, direct supervision, you'll take your first underwater breaths, get comfortable with the gear, and spend time simply moving and floating in an environment that feels strange for about five minutes and then starts to feel completely natural.

The whole experience runs in a single session, no multi-day commitment. Just some quick prep, an instructor, a pool, and your first taste of what diving actually feels like.
