The realisation that you're floating, weightless, in a world you've only ever seen from above. Discover Scuba Diving is built entirely around that one moment.

This isn't a certification course. There's no exam, no long list of skills to master, no pressure. It's your chance to try scuba diving for real, in a calm, controlled pool environment, guided the entire time by one of our PADI instructors. All scuba equipment is included for the duration of your session, so there's nothing to buy or own beforehand, you simply arrive and get in the water. If you've ever wondered what it actually feels like to breathe underwater, this is how you find out, with zero commitment beyond a single session.

Some people do it out of curiosity. Some are testing the waters, quite literally, before booking their Open Water course. Others just want a genuinely different way to spend an afternoon. Whatever brought you here, you'll leave with a real answer to whether diving is for you.

What This Experience Gives You

By the end of your Discover Scuba Diving session, you'll have breathed underwater, used real scuba equipment, and experienced the basics of buoyancy and underwater movement, all under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.

This isn't a certification, so there's no card and no depth rating waiting for you at the end. What you do get is a genuine, hands-on introduction to the sport, and if you decide diving is for you, everything you learn here counts toward your first confined water dive when you move on to your PADI Open Water Diver certification. What This Course Entails

Before you get in the water, there's a short, simple eLearning module to work through on your phone or computer, covering the basics of the equipment and what to expect. It takes a matter of minutes and means you arrive at the pool already knowing what's going on.

From there, your instructor will walk you through the gear in person and the handful of essential skills you'll need before getting in the water: clearing your mask, breathing steadily through the regulator, and basic hand signals.

Then it's straight into our indoor heated pool. Under close, direct supervision, you'll take your first underwater breaths, get comfortable with the gear, and spend time simply moving and floating in an environment that feels strange for about five minutes and then starts to feel completely natural.

The whole experience runs in a single session, no multi-day commitment. Just some quick prep, an instructor, a pool, and your first taste of what diving actually feels like. If you decide you want more, we'll talk you through what it takes to go from Discover Scuba Diving to a full PADI Open Water Diver certification, and the skills you've already built here won't go to waste.

Do I need any diving or swimming experience to do Discover Scuba Diving?

No. This experience is designed for complete beginners, so no prior scuba diving or advanced swimming ability is required. You do need to be reasonably comfortable in water and physically fit enough to complete a basic health questionnaire before your session.

Is Discover Scuba Diving the same as getting certified?

No, and that's the point. Discover Scuba Diving is a taster experience, not a certification course. You won't walk away with a diving licence, but you will walk away with a real answer as to whether scuba diving is for you, and everything you learn counts toward your first confined water dive if you go on to do your PADI Open Water Diver course.

Where does the Discover Scuba Diving course take place?

Your entire session takes place in our indoor heated pool. It's a calm, controlled environment, ideal for a first-time introduction to breathing underwater.

How long does the Discover Scuba Diving experience take?

The whole session runs in a single sitting, combining a short online orientation with in-person, in-water time with your instructor. There's no multi-day commitment and no need to block out a full weekend.

What age do I need to be to try Discover Scuba Diving?

The minimum age is 10 years old. Beyond that, there's no upper age limit, provided you're reasonably fit and comfortable completing the pre-dive health screening.
