Seal Team
SKU STM001
Not a lesson. A series of missions that happen to teach them to dive.
Children don't respond well to being told they're practising a skill. They respond extremely well to being given a mission. PADI Seal Team is built entirely around that observation, and it's why it works where a conventional pool lesson often doesn't.
The programme runs as a series of AquaMissions in a heated indoor pool in Fourways. Each one wraps real scuba skills, buoyancy, equipment handling, awareness, inside a scenario with an objective. Your child is learning properly. They just aren't experiencing it as a lesson.
It starts at eight years old. AquaMission 1 stays within two metres, and everything after that goes to a maximum of four. An instructor is in the water throughout, and all equipment is included.
Seal Team or Master Seal Team
Seal Team membership is earned by completing AquaMissions 1 to 5, which cover the core skills and give your child a genuine grounding in how diving works.
Master Seal Team adds ten Specialty AquaMissions on top, covering navigation, search and recovery, environmental awareness, underwater photography and more. It also requires your child to assemble and disassemble their own equipment independently, which is a real step up in responsibility. In our experience they rise to it noticeably.

Frequently Asked Questions
What actually is an AquaMission?
A themed pool session. Rather than drilling skills for their own sake, each AquaMission wraps them in a scenario, so your child is learning buoyancy while doing something that feels like a mission rather than a lesson. The Specialty AquaMissions cover things like navigation, search and recovery, environmental awareness and underwater photography.
What's the difference between Seal Team and Master Seal Team?
Seal Team membership is earned by completing AquaMissions 1 to 5, which cover the core skills. Master Seal Team adds ten Specialty AquaMissions on top, and requires your child to assemble and disassemble their own equipment independently. It's a genuine step up in responsibility, and children tend to take it very seriously.
How old, and how deep?
Minimum age is eight. AquaMission 1 stays within two metres, and after that they can go to a maximum of four metres. It all happens in a heated indoor pool in Fourways with an instructor in the water.
How long does Seal Team take?
It's flexible by design. AquaMissions are run as individual pool sessions rather than a block, so we schedule them around school, sport and whatever else is going on. Some children work through them over a few weekends, others spread them across a term.
What comes after Seal Team?
Junior Open Water Diver, which becomes available at 10. Children who've been through Seal Team arrive at it already comfortable in the equipment and familiar with most of the skills, which makes the course a great deal less daunting than starting cold.
