MTX-RC Regulator 300B

Description

A regulator that free flows at four degrees has ended the dive whatever else it does well, and the MTX-RC is built around that one failure. A sealed dry chamber keeps water off the first stage spring and an unfreezable end cap stops ice forming where it would hold the valve open. On a deep quarry dive in single digit water it holds a steady breathe where an unsealed first stage ices up. On a wreck dive at 60 metres the over balanced design raises intermediate pressure faster than ambient, so the second stage keeps delivering as depth increases. On a working dive in current the diver winds opening effort down and the venturi in, then reverses both at the surface so the regulator does not run away on the boat. The rotating turret is what separates it from the MTX-R, letting five medium pressure hoses leave at the angle the rig actually needs. It suits a cold water or technical diver who wants the breathe under their own control, and the MTX-RC Octopus is its matched second stage.
