R4 TEC2 Regulator

Description

Most of the effort of breathing a regulator happens at the second stage, so a diver who wants a lighter rig without giving up breathing comfort should save weight at the first stage instead. The R4 TEC2 does exactly that. Tecline pair their compact R4 TEC first stage, 637 g of chrome-plated marine bronze with a dry chamber and cold kit, with their top TEC2 second stage: pneumatically balanced, with venturi and breathing resistance knobs, a heat exchanger, Teflon-coated metal parts against freezing and the direct flow system. Both meet EN 250A. The result works for a diver who alternates warm-water trips with cold inland diving, as the primary regulator on a single cylinder during a wreck course, and later as a decompression stage, where Tecline rate the R4 TEC perfect. It is not recommended for sidemount. It comes on a 0.70 m black Proflex hose in a red Tecline bag, with the octopus and gauge sold separately. It suits a diver who wants a top second stage on a light first stage.
