Description

Looking down at a console, a camera or a pair of fins usually means tipping the whole head forward, because most mask lenses cut the view off at the cheekbones. The A1 angles its single tempered glass lens and shapes it as an inverted teardrop, which extends the field downward so equipment being handled stays in sight. The lens carries a treatment that stops it fogging rather than relying on spit or gel before every dive. Skirt and strap are soft silicone, with a double rim along the upper inner edge, which is the part that holds a seal on a face that is not the shape the mould was drawn around. The buckles mount on a soft elastic tongue rather than rigid plastic, so they flex instead of snapping. It suits a scuba diver or freediver who works with equipment in their hands.
