Description

A bottom timer has no ceiling to violate, so it carries on reading where a computer would lock a diver out. That is the point of it for a technical diver whose schedule was cut on a desktop planner, and for a team running tables or carrying this as the backup to a computer. It reads actual and maximum depth, dive time in minutes, temperature and ascent speed, the last shown as a percentage alongside a fast ascent warning, and it runs no decompression model at all. Depth rating is 330 metres. Auto on and off runs a quick self test, so the unit is ready without being switched on, and altitude compensation is automatic when the diving moves inland to a Gauteng quarry. Surface interval stays on the display for 24 hours and the logbook stores the last 20 dives. There is no gas setting, no nitrox handling and no stop schedule; those calls stay with the diver or a planning tool. It is wrist mounted. It suits a technical diver running planned tables.
