Description
Children kick from the knee rather than the hip, which is why so many junior fins transmit almost nothing and why cramp in the sole is such a common complaint. The Mini Light sets the foot pocket in the middle of the blade rather than at the end, so force transmits progressively and the water resistance over the top of the foot drops. The sole is given a calculated rigidity specifically to avoid cramping, and the rear of the pocket is thicker, reinforced and fitted with a tongue that makes it easier for a child to get on unaided. Every edge touching skin is rounded. The blade is 100 per cent natural rubber, which resists breakage and abrasion well enough for sea and pool alike. A soft thermoplastic rubber wraps the upper pocket and side spars. Sizes run 23/24 to 34/35. It suits a child swimming or snorkelling.
