Description

The joint between a canister and its cable is the part of a technical light most likely to flood. The D920 removes it: the 74 watt-hour pack is sealed into the body, so a light of canister output has no external connection at all. A single Cree XHP-70-HI behind a 9 degree reflector throws 45,000 candela to 424 metres on land, with four levels off the magnetic tail switch, turbo 5000 lumens for 1 hour 30, high 2400 for 4 hours 25, medium 850 for 10 hours 20 and low 350 for 35 hours. Colour temperature is 6500K at a colour rendering index of 70 or better. The pack holds four 21700 cells and charges magnetically at 16.8 volts and 3.5 amps in about 2 hours 30. Below 5 percent it drops to 350 lumens for two hours rather than going dark, which is the behaviour that matters on a long dive. It suits a technical diver who wants canister duration without a canister.
