Black Cylinder Net

Description

Paint comes off a steel cylinder through abrasion long before corrosion gets a chance, and once the paint has gone the rust follows. A nylon net takes that wear instead. This San-O-Sub net is an open black mesh that stretches over the cylinder body, so water runs straight out and the steel dries between dives instead of sitting damp under a cover. San-O-Sub size their nets by cylinder diameter as well as capacity: the 10 litre fits a 171 mm cylinder at 67 cm long, the 12 litre a 203 mm short cylinder at 67 cm, and the 15 litre a 203 mm cylinder at 90 cm. Cylinders sliding against each other in a boat rack, a bakkie load bumping over a dirt road to a shore entry, and a rental fleet handled by many hands all wear a finish quickly. The net sits over the body, so a boot stays on underneath. It suits the owner of a painted steel cylinder.
