Scubatech Cylinder Boot

Description

A steel cylinder with a rounded base cannot stand on its own, and one that topples on a boat deck dents the floor, the valve or a foot. This Scubatech boot is a rigid plastic cup that pushes onto the base of the cylinder and gives it a flat, stable footing. Sizes follow cylinder diameter: 140 mm for 7 L and 8.5 L cylinders, 171 mm for a standard 12 L, and 203 mm for 15 L, 18 L and short, wide 12 L cylinders. At a dive centre, booted cylinders stand in a row on the fill-station floor without leaning on a wall. On a shore dive, the boot protects the base from rocks and concrete when the cylinder is set down. Water and salt can collect under a boot, so it should come off for rinsing and for each visual inspection. It suits a diver or dive centre using steel cylinders with rounded bases.
