Vyper Novo

Description

Most divers outgrow a basic computer the first time they want a compass on the wrist or a second gas, and the Vyper Novo is built so that step does not mean buying again. It switches between up to three gases from 21 to 99 per cent oxygen, carries a tilt compensated digital compass with bearing lock, and takes optional wireless air integration that shows cylinder pressure and remaining air time. On a navigation exercise the compass holds its reading with the wrist tilted up to 45 degrees. On a nitrox dive with a richer gas clipped off, an alarm flags when the better mix is available. On a freediving morning the apnea timer and depth notifications take over. It runs Suunto RGBM to 80 metres on a CR2450 battery the owner can change. Air integration needs the Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter; the Tank POD does not pair with it. It suits a diver who wants one computer from early nitrox dives through to multi-gas training.
