Description

Entry-level dive computers usually cut something that matters. The Zoop Novo cuts the price instead, and it runs a user-replaceable CR2450 battery, which means no charging before a trip and a change any dive centre can do in minutes rather than a return to the manufacturer. Around 1.5 years of life at a hundred dives a year is realistic. The display is a large matrix with an electro-luminescent backlight, chosen for legibility rather than resolution, and it reads to 80 m on air or nitrox up to 50 per cent oxygen. Gauge and freedive modes are included, with an apnea timer and O2 and CO2 tables, so a training pool session and a reef dive use the same unit. A built-in planner works out the next dive on the surface. No USB cable ships in the box. It suits a newly qualified diver buying a first computer meant to last.
