SCUBAPRO snorkel sets in South Africa

Every set on this page is built from SCUBAPRO's own parts: a mask, a snorkel and, in most cases, a pair of fins. The families are the GO Sport sets, the Seawing Supernova sets, the barefoot GO sets, the junior GO sets and the mask and snorkel combos. Every set also sits in our snorkelling Set Specials, and the full brand range is on the SCUBAPRO page.

GO Sport sets: boot-fit fins

The GO Sport fin uses the Ergo 3 foot pocket re-profiled to take a bootie, so it handles a rocky shore entry in boots as well as a warm-water trip. It's moulded in one piece of Monprene, with the blade pre-angled at 25 degrees around a Central Power Panel and Power Bars under the rails against over-flex. A replaceable self-adjusting bungee heel strap goes on without a buckle, and Scuba Skegs come supplied. The Go Sport Set pairs the fin with the low-volume dual-lens Ecco mask and the Vent 2 snorkel, which has a splashguard top and a purge valve below the mouthpiece. The fins come in six colours from XS to XL and still pack inside IATA carry-on luggage.

Supernova sets: the Seawing Supernova fin

The Seawing Supernova sits at the top of SCUBAPRO's recreational fin range, a step up from the light GO travel fins. Its Auto-Adjust central panel counter-pivots with kicking strength and keeps the angle of attack between 40 and 50 degrees. A Hydra-loop channel and twin-tip winglets steady the fin on frog and alternate kicks. Blade and foot pocket are moulded separately in Monprene and joined by a Socket-Lock system, which lets the fin pack down for travel. The pocket is boot-fit, so boots are needed and sold separately. The Supernova Set adds the Zoom mask, which takes user-changeable optical lenses, the Vent 2 snorkel and a Modular Fin System multi-tool.

GO sets: barefoot fins

The GO fin has no boot pocket and no buckle. It's moulded in Monprene through blade and pocket alike, with a replaceable self-adjusting bungee heel strap, and it packs inside IATA carry-on luggage too. The Go Big Set pairs it with the Ecco mask and Vent 2 snorkel, in fin sizes XS/S, M/L, XL and 2XL. These sets suit warm water and boat snorkelling where boots stay in the bag.

Kids sets

The Go Small Set is built on the Spider single-lens junior mask, a matching snorkel and the GO Travel fin in junior sizes 3XS, 2XS and XS to S. The fin is worn on a bare foot and its bungee heel stretches across a size, so it has no buckle to adjust. The Spider Kids Mask and Snorkel Combo is the same mask with a dry top snorkel that closes when submerged, a purge valve below the mouthpiece, a quick clip and a mesh bag. The Spider is sized for juniors and narrow adult faces.

Mask and snorkel combos

For snorkellers who already own fins, the combos leave them out. The Ecco Mask and Snorkel Combo puts the twin-lens Ecco mask, with a liquid silicone skirt and low internal volume, alongside a snorkel with a splashguard top and a purge valve. It comes with a mesh bag that drains and dries, in black, transparent blue or white. The Ecco takes no optical lenses, so a snorkeller who needs a prescription should look at a set with the Zoom mask.

Choosing a set

Start with the water and the entry. Barefoot GO fins suit warm water and boat entries, while the boot-fit GO Sport and Supernova fins suit shore entries over rock and cooler water. Size boot-fit fins over the boots you'll wear, and size barefoot fins to the bare foot.

Questions we get asked

Where can I buy SCUBAPRO snorkel sets in South Africa?

Scuba Evolution stocks SCUBAPRO snorkel sets and mask and snorkel combos online and at Shop U44, Glenvista Shopping Centre, Johannesburg. Delivery is fast and tracked anywhere in South Africa, next business day in Gauteng.

What's the difference between the Go Sport Set and the Go Big Set?

The Go Sport Set has boot-fit GO Sport fins with Scuba Skegs, for wearing with boots on rocky or cooler entries. The Go Big Set has barefoot GO fins with no boot pocket, for warm water. Both come with the Ecco mask and Vent 2 snorkel.

Do I need boots with the Supernova Set?

Yes. The Seawing Supernova has a boot-fit foot pocket, and dive boots are sold separately.

Which SCUBAPRO set suits a child?

The Go Small Set, with junior GO Travel fins in 3XS, 2XS and XS to S plus the Spider mask and snorkel. If the child already has fins, the Spider Kids Mask and Snorkel Combo comes without them.

Can I fit prescription lenses to a SCUBAPRO set?

The Zoom mask in the Supernova Set takes user-changeable optical lenses. The Ecco mask, used in the Go Sport Set, the Go Big Set and the Ecco combo, has no optical lens option.
