VIEW in South Africa
VIEW is the swimming goggle brand of Tabata, the Japanese sports and leisure company that also owns TUSA. VIEW says it released the world's first interchangeable prescription lens goggles in 1991 and turned to children's goggles in 1994, and it now makes racing, fitness, youth and corrective goggles. We carry the Platina system, a junior goggle and ear plugs.
Platina goggles and prescription lenses
The Platina Swim Goggles are a fitness and open water goggle with flexible side clips that absorb knocks, a split silicone strap, cushion face seals, interchangeable nosepieces and VIEW's Super Anti-Fog and UV Cut lenses.
If you're short-sighted, you can build Platina goggles to your prescription, one eye at a time. Each Platina Corrective Goggle Lens is a complete eye cup, offered from minus 2.0 to minus 10.0, so a different power in each eye isn't a problem. You need two lenses plus the Platina Goggle Parts Kit, which supplies the strap, side clips and three nosepieces. The same kit refreshes an old Platina with a worn strap. See all our prescription swim goggles.
For children
The Imprex Junior Swim Goggles are for young children learning to swim. The E-Z strap is simple for a child to adjust, the large eye pads spread pressure, and the seals are hypo-allergenic TPE. They're made in Japan. More options are in junior swim goggles.
Ear plugs
The VIEW Ear Plugs are soft silicone with three flanges for a full seal, one size, in a hard case. They suit swimming and snorkelling at the surface. Don't wear ear plugs scuba diving or freediving: they stop you equalising the ear canal.
Questions we get asked
Can I get VIEW goggles in my prescription?
Yes, for short sight. Choose a Platina corrective lens for each eye, from minus 2.0 to minus 10.0, and add the Platina parts kit for the strap, side clips and nosepieces.
Can I use different strengths in each eye?
Yes. Each VIEW corrective lens is a separate eye cup, so you choose the power for each eye independently.
Can I wear VIEW ear plugs for scuba diving?
No. Ear plugs block the ear canal so you can't equalise it on descent, which can injure the ear. They're for swimming and surface snorkelling only.
What age are VIEW Imprex Junior goggles for?
VIEW designs the Imprex Junior for young children learning to swim, with a strap a child can adjust themselves and large, soft eye pads.
Who makes VIEW goggles?
VIEW is a brand of Tabata, the Japanese sporting goods company that also owns TUSA.
