Air and Nitrox Fills

Walk in for an air or nitrox fill at Scuba Evolution, Shop U44, Glenvista Shopping Centre, any time during trading hours. We fill to the pressure stamped on the cylinder, 232 or 300 bar, and never above it.

Prices

  • Air fill to 232 bar: R130
  • Air fill to 300 bar: R150
  • Nitrox fill: R280

Prices are per fill and include VAT.

Air fills

  • Fills are for certified divers, so bring your certification card.
  • The cylinder must be in current test, with a sound valve and o-ring. Under SANS 10019 the visual inspection is due every two years and the hydrostatic test every four. A cylinder outside either date is refused rather than filled.
  • Pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) rifle cylinders rated to 300 bar are filled to the same air standard.

Nitrox fills

  • You need an Enriched Air Diver certification. If you don't have it yet, the Enriched Air (Nitrox) course can run alongside your Open Water course.
  • The cylinder must be in current test, and oxygen cleaned where the fill method requires it.
  • We analyse the mix before the cylinder leaves the counter, and we both sign the fill log. Analyse it again yourself before the dive and set your computer to the measured mix.

Cylinder out of test?

Leave it with us. We book the visual inspection and hydrostatic test with an accredited test station, then fill it once it passes. See scuba gear servicing.

Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00. Saturday 09:00 to 16:00. Sunday 09:00 to 13:00. Public holidays 09:00 to 13:00. Closed Good Friday, Easter Sunday, 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
