Description

Both the Nova 1000R and the Nova 1000R Wide ship without a cell, which makes this a required purchase alongside the light rather than a spare part. It is the rechargeable lithium-ion cell those lights run on, rated at 3.6 volts, 5000 milliamp-hours and 18 watt-hours in the 21700 format, and it recharges over a USB Type-C connection on the cell itself, so no cradle charger is needed on a trip. The 21700 carries more capacity than the 18650 used in the Nova 850R range, and that is where the 1000R's longer burn time comes from. Runtime is then set by how many cells were packed rather than by a charging schedule: swapping one on a boat deck takes seconds, and a USB power bank in a bakkie recharges it at a shore entry site. One cell is supplied and each light takes one, so a hot swap needs two. Lithium-ion cells fly in hand luggage and are refused in checked baggage. It suits a Nova 1000R owner.
