26650 BATTERY 5000mAh

The OrcaTorch 26650 is a 5000 milliamp-hour lithium cell, the largest format in the range, and it exists because the D511 takes two of them. A 2200 lumen torch running three hours needs that much stored energy, and no smaller cell delivers it.

Nominal voltage is 3.7 volts across 5000 milliamp-hours. The cell measures 26 millimetres across and 68 millimetres long and weighs 98 grams, which is roughly twice an 18650. Triple over-heat protection is built in. A full charge takes 6 hours 30 minutes, and OrcaTorch rate it for more than 500 cycles, replacing about 500 disposable cells over its life.

The result is a torch that runs a two-dive day without a battery change. The D511 uses two 26650 cells in series, so a spare pair is the sensible purchase rather than a single cell, and the alkaline C-cell fallback is there for the trip where charging is not possible.

Supplied as a single cell with no charger. The D511 ships with two cells and a charger in the box, so this is a spare rather than a first purchase. It is not interchangeable with the 18650 or 21700 cells used elsewhere in the range, which are physically smaller.
