Description

Blue light is what makes coral fluoresce, and carrying a separate blue torch for it is how most divers manage. The Black Molly VIIB has 150 lumens of blue built in alongside its white array, so a fluorescence hunt runs off the same light as the rest of the dive. The white side gives 2900 lumens for 2 hours, 1450 for 4, 725 for 8 and 290 for 20, across a 120 degree extra-wide beam that suits video and general lighting rather than reaching. Power is a rechargeable 26650 cell. It measures 35.5 mm across and 126.8 millimetres long, which is slim for the output, and sits 105 grams negative, tested to 100 metres. Three packs are offered: the light alone, with a case, or with a case and arm. A removable yellow filter ships in the box for fluorescence work. It suits a diver shooting fluorescence as well as ordinary video.
