Big Blue Nine Inch Jumbo Float Arm

Description

Lift comes from displaced volume, not from length, which is why the jumbo exists alongside the standard nine inch float arm. Same reach, thicker section, considerably more buoyancy, for the rigs that need it: a big dome port, a housed mirrorless or SLR body and a pair of large video lights add up to an assembly heavy enough that a standard float arm only takes the edge off. The trade is drag, since a fatter arm pushes more water on a swim, so the jumbo is the right choice when the rig is genuinely heavy and the wrong one when it is not. It closes on standard one inch balls at both ends and drops into an existing arm system in place of a solid section. That answers a dome port, a housed SLR and two large lights. It suits a photographer carrying a heavy rig.
