Adjustable Goodman Handle

Description

A Goodman handle straps a light to the back of the hand so all five fingers stay free for a reel, a camera, a valve or a line. The adjustable version adds the thing fixed handles cannot do: the angle between the light and the hand can be set, so the beam points where the diver is looking rather than wherever the hand happens to be held. That matters more than it sounds, because a fixed handle forces the wrist into whatever position aims the light, and holding that for an hour is what makes a light tiring rather than heavy. Adjustment also lets one handle serve different lights and different diving positions, from trim on a technical dive to a hand held low over a reef. Fixed and slim fit versions cover divers who prefer the simplest option. It suits a diver who wants to set the beam angle independently of the wrist.
