ADJUSTABLE SPRING STRAPS

The Aqua Lung adjustable spring strap converts an open-heel fin from a rubber strap and buckle to a sprung strap that keeps constant tension. A rubber strap has to be set loose enough to get a boot through it and then tightened, and it is the part of a fin that fails first, at the worst moment.

A spring strap has no adjustment to slip and no buckle to break. This pair mounts onto any Aqua Lung fin that currently uses an adjustable rubber strap. Six mounting positions on each side let the length be matched to the boot rather than to the fin. The overall range runs from 11.5 to 14.75 inches, which covers a bare foot in a full-foot conversion through to a 7 mm boot. Finger loops at the heel allow the strap to be pulled on and off in gloves, in surge, without looking at it.

The result is a fin that goes on the same way every time and stops being the thing that ends a dive early.

Supplied as a pair with mounting hardware. Compatible with Aqua Lung adjustable-strap and spring-strap fins with the exception of the Rocket II. Set the length on land with the boots that will be worn.
