ADL SYSTEM

The Aqua Lung ADL System is a magnetic clipping system for attaching and releasing equipment underwater, designed and manufactured in Germany. It replaces the fumbling that a bolt snap creates when a gloved hand has to find a gate and grip a torch at the same time.

The mount is a magnetic ball that swivels through a full 360 degrees, so an accessory hanging from it can rotate to any angle without loading the attachment point sideways. A pin adapter fixes the counterpart to an existing metal D-ring, which means the buoyancy compensator does not need modifying. The latch is magnetic, so it draws the pin adapter to itself and connects on approach rather than on alignment, and it is backed by a mechanical lock rather than by magnetism alone. That lock releases under tension and with one hand.

The result is an accessory that can be clipped and unclipped by feel, in gloves, without looking down and without a second hand.

Supplied in black and orange, in medium and large. The large takes heavier items such as a canister torch or a camera tray, the medium suits a reel, an SMB or a slate. The mechanical latch is what takes the load, so check it is engaged before letting go.
