The giveaway in badly lit underwater video is the colour edge: a warm, artificially lit foreground sitting inside a cold blue background with a visible line where the beam stops. An ambient filter fixes that by shifting the light towards the colour of the water it is being used in, so the lit area blends into the scene rather than announcing itself. This is the full blue version rather than the light blue, made for deeper or darker water where the ambient is genuinely blue and a milder shift would leave the foreground looking artificially warm.
