The AIR2 5th Generation combines a backup regulator second stage with a BC inflator in a single unit, positioned on the low-pressure inflator hose rather than as a separate dangling octopus. In an out-of-air emergency, the diver passes their primary regulator to the other diver and breathes from the AIR2 while retaining buoyancy control. It delivers airflow comparable to a primary second stage, with a large purge cover for clearing and colour-coded inflate and deflate buttons. This compact design is intended to simplify equipment configuration and emergency air-sharing procedures.
