AIR2 5th Generation

Description

Two pieces of equipment become one here. The AIR2 replaces both the BCD power inflator and the octopus with a single unit on the low pressure inflator hose, so nothing hangs below the chest and the alternate air source sits exactly where the hand already goes for buoyancy. That is what makes an out-of-air drill a one handed job: the primary goes to the buddy, the AIR2 comes to the mouth, and the same hand works the inflator on the ascent, with no second hose to hunt for in poor visibility. The valve is a classic downstream design and work of breathing on this generation matches a standard downstream second stage across the pressure range. Inflate and deflate buttons sit on top, separated by colour and shape, over a large purge cover, with a dive and pre-dive switch against surface free flow. It suits a diver who wants nothing hanging below the chest.
