Big Blue AL1200NP-IR Infrared Narrow Beam Light Head

Description

Infrared light is invisible to the human eye and to most marine life, which is the entire point of it: a camera with an infrared-sensitive sensor records a lit scene while the animals in front of it behave as though the water is still dark. This is the head assembly for the AL1200NP-IR, the LED, optics, electronics and switch supplied on their own in a plain box with no battery, charger or accessories, so a flooded or damaged light can be repaired and a spare head carried without buying a second complete torch. The beam is narrow at ten degrees, which concentrates the output into a tight cone and reaches further than a wide beam at the same power. The housing is anodised aluminium alloy, tested to one hundred metres. That answers behavioural filming, nocturnal species and survey work that must not disturb the subject. It suits a diver replacing or duplicating an AL1200NP-IR head.
