Description

Video is the argument for an extra wide beam. A camera sees a rectangle, and a beam narrower than that rectangle puts a bright circle in the middle of every frame with darkness falling away at the edges, which no amount of grading afterwards fixes properly. An extra wide beam fills the frame instead. This is the AL1300XWP head assembly on its own, the LED, optics, electronics and switch in a plain box with no battery, charger, lanyard or dry bag, bought to repair a damaged head or to keep a spare in the kit box against the dive where the first one fails. Narrow and standard wide heads cover the beam angles on either side of it for divers whose priority is reach rather than coverage. That answers wide-angle video, a close reef subject and a light used hard in service. It suits a diver keeping an AL1300XWP running.
