Stainless steel is only stainless until it is left wet in a sheath, and a knife that lives on a BCD is left wet more often than any other piece of kit. Titanium does not corrode at all, which is the entire argument for paying more for this version. This is the Big Squeeze in a high-grade beta titanium alloy with a spear tip, a 10.8 cm blade at 24.2 cm overall. The spear point is the pattern for a diver who needs to pierce as well as cut, on a working dive or in fisheries and research use, and it demands more care around a suit and a buoyancy cell than a blunt tip does. The sheath releases only when the moulded grip is squeezed, so the knife does not leave on a giant stride, and it mounts to a BCD, a belt or leg straps sold separately. It suits a working diver who wants a point and no corrosion.
