Big Blue Five Inch Camera Arm

Description

Short arms are for macro. A subject the size of a fingernail is photographed from a few centimetres away, there is almost no water column between port and subject for particles to sit in, and a long arm simply puts the light out where it cannot reach the frame at all. Five inches keeps the light close and tightly controlled, and it keeps the rig compact enough to swim without fighting it, which matters on a dive spent hovering over one patch of reef. It closes on standard one inch balls at both ends, so it joins a tray to a clamp or shortens an existing chain, and it works with third-party clamps as well as Big Blue ones. Eight, twelve and sixteen inch versions cover wider work. That answers macro, a compact housing and a rig kept small. It suits a photographer shooting close subjects.
