Big Blue Eight Inch Camera Arm

Description

Eight inches is the length most rigs end up using, because it sits at the point where a light can be pushed off the lens axis far enough to keep its beam out of the water directly in front of the port, without turning the whole assembly into something that has to be wrestled through a current. It is the default arm for general reef and video work, long enough for the geometry that defeats backscatter and short enough to stay out of the way. It closes on standard one inch balls at both ends, so it joins a tray to a clamp or extends an existing chain, and it works with third-party clamps as well as Big Blue ones. Five inch arms cover macro; twelve and sixteen inch arms cover wide angle behind a dome. That answers general reef work, video and a mixed dive. It suits a photographer building a rig of ordinary reach.
