CHS-09 Floating Handstrap

Description

Buoyancy is the obvious feature and the least interesting one. Yes, a camera that slips from a hand sinks slowly rather than going straight to the bottom, but the strap earns its place while the camera is still being held: it lifts, so it is not dragging the camera down through a frame, and it stays clear of the lens instead of trailing across it. That is the difference on a snorkel between both hands free for a fin strap and gripping the camera for the whole swim. It adjusts to the wrist, carries a carabiner loop for a buoyancy jacket or a bag, and weighs about 40 grams. It fits across the TOUGH range. One caveat worth stating: on scuba a retractor or a bolt snap on a D-ring retains better, since a floating strap at 20 metres pulls upwards. It suits a snorkeller or swimmer carrying a TOUGH camera.
