Cookie Monster

Description

In a cave with several jumps, a cookie left at a T tells the diver behind that a team mate went that way and has yet to come back. That is what a non-directional marker does: it records passage, where an arrow records which way the exit lies. A team can then account for its own divers by what is on the line rather than by memory, and because divers mark their own, the set doubles as a name tag readable by touch. These are ten circular markers threaded on a bungee cord with a stainless steel bolt snap, clipping onto a guideline and staying there under tension. The whole set travels as one item on a harness D-ring, clipped there before the jump rather than carried loose in a pocket, and the cord holds the rest in order while one is being placed. Ten is a set for one diver on a multi-jump dive, or shared across a small team. This is overhead-environment equipment. It suits a technical diver working an overhead environment.
