Big Blue DA-001 Hot Shoe Adapter

Description

The hot shoe on top of a camera housing is the natural place to put a light, and it is the one fitting almost every housing already has. This adapter uses it, converting that shoe into a Big Blue mounting point so a light sits directly above the lens without an arm, a tray or anything else being bought first. That makes it the cheapest way to get a light onto a rig, and the most compact, since nothing projects beyond the housing itself. It is machined from T6061 aluminium, the grade Big Blue use across their accessory series, which is chosen to survive salt water rather than to save cost. Overall length is 1.75 inches. That answers a compact camera setup, a first light mount and a travel rig kept deliberately small. It suits a photographer mounting a light to a camera hot shoe.
