DA-017 Standard Dovetail

Description

A dovetail slides and locks rather than screwing on, which means a light leaves the rig in a second and returns to exactly the same position every time. On a setup that gets broken down between dives that repeatability is worth more than it sounds, because nothing has to be re-aimed once the fitting is set. This is the standard dovetail from Big Blue's accessory series, the fitting rather than the plate, and it pairs with the DA-004 plate to complete the pair. The series is designed to cater to different photographic and video systems, so a dovetail already present on a third-party tray can be used as it stands. It is machined from T6061 aluminium, chosen because it survives salt water. That answers a travel rig, a light shared between setups and a tray already carrying a dovetail. It suits a photographer wanting a light on and off quickly.
